Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited data Vista People Search receives, how that information is handled, and the choices available to visitors. The service is a private reference for locating public records held by Vista, San Diego County, and California offices. No account is required, and Vista People Search does not maintain its own file of public records about you.

Information You Submit

Search forms send the name, telephone number, or address you enter to the outside provider that supplies the results. Vista People Search does not save a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent through the contact channel contains whatever details you choose to provide, and those details are used to answer you.

Information Collected Automatically

Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. The data is reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and learn which Vista reference pages visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic traffic analysis and, when applicable, advertising measurement.

How Information Is Used

The limited information described above helps operate the service, diagnose faults, measure visits, and improve content. Vista People Search does not sell a visitor list or create profiles of individual users.

Privacy on Linked Services

Links may lead to City of Vista resources, San Diego County and California record offices, libraries, government portals, or outside search tools. Information entered after following a link is controlled by that destination’s policy, not this one. The same rule applies to sponsored search results, which an independent company provides.

When Information Is Shared

Vendors that host or support Vista People Search process server logs for site operations. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information listed above. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; visitor information is not otherwise shared.

Safeguards and Retention

An encrypted connection protects information in transit. Server logs are kept only for as long as the operational uses above require. Because visitors do not create accounts, Vista People Search holds no user password or account profile.

Visitors Under Age 18

The service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. Vista People Search does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor may have submitted personal details, contact us so the material can be removed.

California Privacy Choices

Privacy rights can include access, correction, or deletion of personal data, depending on the law and the entity holding it. Because Vista People Search keeps little visitor information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Submit that request through the Contact page.

California’s Delete Act, SB 362, Chapter 709, Statutes of 2023, expanded the state’s data-broker system. Registration duties appear in Civil Code section 1798.99.82. As of January 1, 2026, California residents may use the California Privacy Protection Agency’s Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, known as DROP, to send one deletion request to active registered data brokers. Under Civil Code section 1798.99.86(c), brokers must access the deletion mechanism at least once every 45 days and must begin processing covered requests on August 1, 2026, subject to limited exceptions.

Public records held by the City of Vista, San Diego County, California, or a court remain outside the control of Vista People Search. Requests for agency records follow the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 et seq., but that access law does not make every record public or create a general deletion right. Questions about correction, redaction, or removal must go to the office that keeps the record, subject to the law governing that record.

Changes to This Policy

Any revised policy will appear here. Using Vista People Search after a revision takes effect means that you accept the updated terms.
